Night had fallen, and the air had started to become deathly cold. Luckily for Chai he'd managed to find an old abandoned barn, there were holes in the ceiling and he could hear mice, but he knew that this was the best he was going to get. He wondered whether to start a fire, but he didn't want to be spotted, for he knew that the elves would send more after him. He lay down into the hay, and promptly fell into a slumber.
Aurora was silent, her body one with the embrace of night. She hopped between trees, her eyes sharp, picking up every movement. She came across the barn, silently jumped down from the canopy and peered in. The young man was laying in the hay, seemingly in a deep sleep.  What a stupid place to hide. Did he seriously think we'd wait 'till morning?  She thought, gliding over next to him. She looked down at his sleeping face.  A shame. She drew out her knife at placed it next to his beating heart. She raised the knife and plunged it down. Chai's eyes snapped open and he grabbed her by the wrist, the knife inches from his chest.
"A girl?" He exclaimed in surprise.
Aurora jumped back while Chai stood up and yawned.
"I am not a girl." Aurora said through gritted teeth.
"Yeah, yeah. You're some hunter sent to kill me aren't you? I kinda figured someone would come after me, just not someone so… puny."  He stretched and sighed. "Ugh, you woke me up from the best nap…"
Aurora was shaking in anger at his words and she gripped the knife tighter. She raised her head and suddenly jumped up into the beams of the old building. Meanwhile Chai had been building up heat in his hands.
"Hey, I don't wanna hurt you girly, I can explain everything…" He exclaimed while peering into the darkness. A spark jumped from his fingers. It was ready. He placed his hands near a bale of hay, another spark fell of the tips of his fingers, catching the hay alight. "Sorry girl, but I'm outa here." He ran out of the barn as the flames leaped and danced.
Aurora was just about to jump down onto his back when he bolted. She growled in annoyance then she saw the flame.
"You... have got to be joking!" she growled. She turned to face the flames that were quickly rising in height, and faced her palm in the direction of the source of the fire. The fire morphed into water, but with that, the supports started to creak and snap, causing the barn to lean, lean, and fall, Aurora only just managing to catch her desent to the hard ground with the water, but then nearly crushed by the roof of the barn. Her vision went black.
Chai stopped a fair distance away, slightly surprised where all he could see was a collapsed barn, rather than a burning one. "How... A water user?"
Aurora shook herself back to conciousness, and was panting heavily, the wooden beams that she'd just been standing on now on top of her, only just lightened by some of the water that Aurora had fell in. "L- Least it's not on fire..." She shivered, shoving the beams off of her. Her right arm was bleeding profusely, and she couldn't open her left eye all the way. "R- Right..." Aurora shivered. "It's on, fire elf..."
